Today's building as an enormous machine

 

1. A large machine or a computer

 The building is no longer just a space for people's lives and actions. It may be better to think of it as a huge machine or computer with a large number of facilities and equipment in full. It takes a lot of collaboration in subsectors to build these huge computers.

 

2. Water supply and drainage, and other mechanical facilities

The area of facilities designed for water supply and collection of water and water systems, mechanical ventilation, and large mechanical installations running air-conditioning and heating systems is the most fundamental and essential area for constructing buildings for modern living style.

 

3. Electrical and telecommunications facilities

Electrical and telecommunications facilities occupy an important status in modern buildings. The power lines and communication lines are all handled, designed, and installed by the electrical and communication facilities team.

The structure of the building is calculated and designed by the building structure office. It’s the work of the structure office from designing and calculating the foundation where the building will be built, and to the whole structure of the building.

The landscaping company is responsible for the plantation and designing the environment around the building. Landscaping companies propose and decide from species of plantation to types of gravel through discussing with architects.

 

6. Facade engineering

 

 

 The same goes for facade engineers. It is one of the work areas where architects collaborate to build a building, and it is complex enough to function as a separate work area, requiring expertise in facades.

 

 Facade Engineering is a special area that deals with only facade-related problems. If the architect moves the entire site and concerns with a large-scaled entire building, the facade engineer concerns from the overall composition of the facade to a small screw in façade units, structural calculation, thermal calculation, and detail design. The facade is also an exciting area where new technologies and details are being attempted regarding insulation and structural systems, becoming an entity of current architectural technology.
